Stanton Ironworks - Exhibition Centre
The Exhibition Centre, at what remains of the once vast Stanton Ironworks in Derbyshire, opened in 1944 with the "Exhibition Of War Products".
Stanton produced large numbers of munitions for both 1914-18 and 1939-45 conflicts.
The Stanton Gate (latterly Erewash) foundry produced 873,500 bomb casings during the Second World War.
The building, with it's lovely art deco inspired frontage, has stood empty for many years and will hopefully remain in the likelihood that Saint Gobain's redevelopment plans get the go-ahead.
