ACEC Herstal
Dated back to 1885 it has been started as Société anonyme Électricité et Hydraulique à Charleroi it has been taken over in 1904 and got the name l'Ateliers de Constructions Electriques de Charleroi (ACEC). In 1947 ACEC merged with les Constructions Electriques de Belgique of Herstal becoming ACEC Herstal. In 1970 it became a member of the Westinghouse group. Acec has been dismantled and ceased to exist in 1992. ACEC has been a manufacturer of a wide range of electrical products; latterly electrical parts for Belgian locomotives.
Now the buildings are in development as a multi-tenant complex for small businesses and industries.
