During my stay in the United States in 2015 I got a chance to visit not really known hot strip mill in Indiana near Gary. Modern looking building wasn´t promising much on the first glance, but the inside shocked me - an old hot strip mill with SACK / MESTA signs with very interesting history.
It came from Wales (UK) where it was in operation since early 50´s. When local steel mill was shutdown in 1991 the hot strip mill could have been restarted with only one condition - not in Europe. Luckily a company from Indiana brought it to the US and the mill was restarted soon after.
But the question is - any ideas which plant in Wales was that? Thanks for your tips in advance!
