Sägewerk - Gayle Mill - saw mill

Diese ursprünglich als Spinnerei betriebene Wassermühle in Gayle bei Hawes in den Yorkshire Dales wurde später in ein Sägewerk mit Schreinerei umgebaut und bis Mitte der 80er Jahre als solche betrieben. Die Anlage wurde einschließlich der viktorianischen Maschinen sehr authentisch und betriebsfähig restauriert. Insgesamt drei Turbinen versorgen die Maschinen über Transmissionen mit Energie und erzeugen elektrischen Strom.
Gayle Mill
Gayle mill is located at Gayle near Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales. Originally it has been operated as a spinning mill and has been converted into a saw mill and joinery later. After the closure of this operation the mill has been renovated in a very authentic way. Most of the lineshaft-driven machinery is still operable. Three water turbines supply energy for the machinery and drive generators to produce electricity for the national grid.
