Morley Park Furnaces
These are cold-blast iron furnaces and are a remarkable survival, as they ceased operation in 1874.
The right hand furnace was built in 1780, only 6 years after the famous Coalbrookdale furnace, and the left hand one in 1818. They now stand in the middle of an agricultural area, but coal mining continued in the area until well into the 20th century. The furnaces are now the only visible remains of what was once a significantly industrial area.
