Grand Trunk & Western coaling tower, Lansing MI, 2006

Coaling tower of the Grand Trunk & Western Railroad. This massive concrete structure served in its time to supply steam locomotives with coal. From the leftmost track, the facility itself was supplied with coal, which dropped from hopper cars onto a skip that filled the bunker. Although this structure has not seen any use for 50 years, a demolition is probably not practical due to the massive construction.
