Krokströmmen dam

The arch dam at Krokströmmen in river Ljusnan. Arch dams are rare in Sweden because the geology is quite different from continental Europe. It was completed in 1953 as part of the post WW II effort to increase production capacity. The dam is 45 meters tall and 160 meters wide. Two Francis and one Kaplan turbine provide a generating capacity of 103 MW.
