In Vitkovice befand sich das gleichnamige Hüttenwerk, das Steinkohlenbergwerk Hlubina und ein ausgiebiger Straßenbahnverkehr. Alles ist heute noch vorhanden, jedoch ist die Industrie stillgelegt.
