Persil
Persil clocks, once common through German cities and towns, are a symbol of the industrialization and the consequent mass consumption society.
This one stands in Apolda, Thuringia, located along the Bahnhofstraße, the street that links the train station to the town centre and is flanked by magnificent old factories and entrepreneurs' villas. One of them is visible on the right of the picture.
The clock was re-built and put into its original position by a local association which takes care of it:
