Elektrownia Laziska | Laziska power station
View of Laziska power plant from Skalny mound. It is one of the biggest fossil - fueled power plants in Poland. The first Laziska power station was opened in 1918 with nearly carbide plant. New part of plant were build in 60 and 70's years. There are 6 units with pulverised coal boilers and condensing turbines. Total power output of plant is 1155 MW. There are two 125 MW, three 225 MW and one 230 MW units. The cooling towers are 90 and 100 metres tall. The biggest stack of FGD unit is 196,5 metres tall and it replaced an old 200 metres tall chimney (demolished in 2003). Second tallest stack of 125 MW units is 160 metres tall. The lowest stack above second right cooling tower is owned by Huta Laziska, the big ferroalloys plant. The power plant is connected with Boleslaw Smialy coal mine by belt conveor.
