This power station was originally built in 1921 and was at that time one of the most important power plants in Belgium. In the 1950s, the plant was modernized and a new unit was built. In the 1970s, modifications made it possible for the plant to burn Blast Furnace gas. To do this, a gigantic pipe is built between the HF4 site and the power plant. The units stopped production in 2007.
