FIAT, Torino-Mirafiori
The largest manufacturing plant in Italy, opened in the late 1930s, experienced a heavy undersizing in the last 10 years, due to a reduced range of products and productions relocated in Southern Italy and abroad. So several parts of the "historic" Mirafiori, like this in the picture, became unused, while the newer section on the other side of the road, opened in the 1950s for components production has been almost totally shut down. The picture shows also the notorious "5 chimneys" of the power plant, inspiration for the emblem showed on FIAT cars in the '80s and '90s.
