The refrigeration plant of Verona's Wholesale Market was opened in 1930 as one of the most advanced of its kind Europe. It featured a big rotating platform under the dome which received goods and sent them to one of the 15 refrigeration rooms around: 7 were galleries for railcars and 8 were cellars for fruit and vegetables.
