Dietzsch-type cement plant
Old cement plant dating back to 1894. Portland cement was made in Dietzsch vertical kilns, from where those chimneys belong. A rotating oven was added in the 50s but the plant was closed a few years later in 1964. A ropeway (now disappeared) used to carry marlstone from an underground quarry directly into the ovens.
