Colin Stewart Minchem Ltd, Winsford
The north bank of the River Weaver in Winsford, Cheshire, was once lined with open pan saltworks and associated industries. Today the only industrial premises remaining are those of Colin Stewart Minchem Ltd ( http://www.csminchem.co.uk/company_overview.asp ) which process a range of bulk inorganic powders for a wide range of uses including detergents and cosmetics. The company was established on this site in 1913.
All the land around the factory has been subject to massive reclamation schemes and is now used as a country park. This corner of the works where bagging of powders is undertaken, was photographed over the perimeter fence from the riverside path.
