The marble quarry
|
This quarry of white marble exploits calcareous grounds of the upper jurassic. The modern exploitation took place between 1848 and 1939, date of closure of the quarry.
View shows one of the main rooms of the quarry, served by two railways Decauville allowing the evacuation of rubbles and marble blocks. The height of rooms is 12 meters.
