FCT 3000
|
Viscose rayon spinning machine, using the FCT 3000 continuous process (patented by the Italian SNIA Viscosa in early 80s, being the first world one). Viscose rayon making can be divided in two macro-processes: the chemical one and the textile one. In the first one cellulose is treated with various chemicals that change the molecular structure of cellulose fibers giving a viscose substance. In the second process viscose is regenerated through wet-spinning (baths) and pure textile operations follow. The FCT 3000 machine was able to complete on its own the second process, as well explained in this figure:
The machine here represented is one out of 80 in a former SNIA factory, inactive since 2007. Dismantling operations are ongoing, stuff will be sent to China.
